(Note: I am re-posting this article today, September 11, because a bunch of us will be there protesting Obama’s latest attempt to change the meaning of America. And of course, I want him to repent for what his is trying to do today and to be aware that we will not let him rest. I don’t know if anyone is covering this event but we will have camera and video coverage ready next week, and perhaps a short post later tonight or early tomorrow. Please use this thread to continue the very interesting discussion generated when this was first posted.)
September 11 will live forever in America as a day of mourning and respect for those killed, their families, the survivors, the rescue workers and the rescue animals on that day in 2001. We salute our soldiers that went to get the perpetrators, and remember our unity and resolve as Americans in the face of such a terrible tragedy.
Such an event on our homeland cannot be trivialized, forgotten, replaced, nor celebrated, though some of course will. Isn’t it shocking to even wonder if the pResident of the U.S. is one of those celebrating?
And it cannot be usurped, as Obama would like to, with his announcement of his mandatory civilian army corps on September 11, 2009, in LaFayette Park across the street from the White House. Or carelessly dismissed by his disrespectful tossing of a rose into the memorial at New York’s Ground Zero last year.
The Obama machine is as thick as molasses with symbology…everything is staged– from the attire color, coordination, and style, to words and the tone and cadence of their delivery, to the dates and locations for specific events. Here of course is September 11th, and LaFayette Square.
Obama’s civilian army, to be as well funded as the U.S. Military (say what?), will force nearly every American into mandatory civilian service for aims is as nefarious as the vagueness of Obama’s original statement of his desire. Training will be conducted on University campuses now well-stocked with the socialist ‘professors’; all kinds of social service access is probably tied to service within his civilian corps.
Two points jump out at me.
- First, Obama and Congress’ authority to establish such a mandatory service is severely challenged by their Constitutionally- delegated powers, the Second Amendment, and the authorities of each of the Governors to command the National Guard and militias of their states.
- Second, Obama has every reason to continue to diminish 911 as a tool of disrespect and demoralization of Americans and our troops. He has no concept of what September 11 means to Americans, because he is not American.
As eloquently stated in the blog Shrouded in Doubt:
As a conservative now, I understand what was wrong with my mentality at that time. I also understand what Obama’s gesture after 9-11, removing his American flag lapel pin, meant. And I understand what is wrong with it. Barack Obama is a member of the far Left. His loyalty is not to America as it is, but to his Leftist vision of what he wants it to be. He is not “America First”.
With 9-11 attacks, Obama saw America wounded. He dug in his heels in opposition to President Bush’s muscular defense of America as it was. I have no doubt that he sensed a historic opportunity was at hand to advance a progressive Left agenda. Wounded, America might be brought to its senses and submit to a Leftist reform of revolutionary scope. He removed his lapel pin to symbolize his position. At a tragic moment, when his countrymen were killed, Obama said, in effect, I can’t honor them or the country they supported. My loyalty is elsewhere.
LaFayette Park used to be called the ‘President’s Park’ because of its proximity to the White House grounds. According to the National Park Service,
Lafayette Park has been used as a race track, a graveyard, a zoo, a slave market, an encampment for soldiers during the War of 1812, and many political protests and celebrations. Today’s plan with its five large statues dates from the 1930’s. In the center stands Clark Mills’ equestrian statue of President Andrew Jackson, erected in 1853; in the four corners are statues of Revolutionary War heroes: France’s General Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette and Major General Comte Jean de Rochambeau; Poland’s General Thaddeus Kosciuszko; Prussia’s Major General Baron Frederich Wilhelm von Steuben.
So, let me get this straight: Instead of paying respect to the heroes and victims of 911, Obama is setting up his own civilian army corps, surrounded by American revolutionary war heroes, on the anniversary of September 11th, the day America was attacked. And Andrew Jackson, the President who favored a strong and ever-expanding central government, is in the center of the Square. The background of the American revolutionary war heroes, replaced with a new set of revolutionaries.
Seems like Obama’s buddies Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright also used the same place to “protest for peace” prior to Obama meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister.
Having just written the piece on the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, those who usurped the name of the Sons of Liberty, I wonder again: who is making war on America from within? There seems to be a very fine line here between First Amendment rights to free speech, and the actual undermining of a country from within, using the people’s own resources.
Obama is replacing actual events and circumstances of 911 with his own vision of America’s atonement for 911, in my view, and by his behavior is clearly saying we deserved it. So we’re going to make you pay serve, America. That is usurpation.
This disrespect of Americans is astounding and cannot be appeased. It must be stopped. I am torn between ignoring the SOB or standing there in the square with the appropriate signage…..
No, You Can’t
I am not sorry Obama. Nothing you can do will ever replace Americans and our memories, our spirit, and our love of country. Consider yourself on notice. You are unworthy of we, the people.
First, a stunning memorial within days:
