This September 10, 2009 photograph shows you just a small detail of the disgraceful rips and tears in this American flag that flies above the Canon House Office Building in Washington D.C.

Bev of the Band of Mothers (site down as I posted this) pointed this out as  we attended a vigil that is held on that office’s corner to pay attention to the troops.  Win the war, or pull out.  Give the troops what they need.  Stop the incompetence that results in our soldiers’ harm.

Congress’ contempt for the American people could not be more blatant.

No, America is not in tatters, Congress is.

GET A NEW FLAG!  😡

All 2 million of us.

All 2 million of us.

    DrKate,

On your radio show, you discussed a very important question of “what’s next?” In addition to other important things that have been mentioned, I would like to add (and maybe this has been suggested already) a campaign to vote EVERYONE out of office in 2010. A campaign that should go viral, called something like “There is No Baby in This Bath Water.” Well, it doesn’t matter what it’s called, as long as as many people as possible join it and vote all incumbents out of their office.

Dr. Kate: Thanks for the updates.

As many of you know, yesterday it was revealed at least 5 offices of ACORN around the country are tied to under-age prostitution rings, bringing girls here from foreign countries. Congress voted yesterday to STOP funding to this agency until further investigation. There were 7 senators who voted against stopping funding, including my two senators here in Illinois, Durbin and Burris, who are BIG Obama supporters. When I heard this, I immediately EMAILED them to remind them they work for the people of Illinois and ultimately the American people, not Obama, and that this agency needs to be shut down and investigations started immediately. I am sure I will not hear from either one of them very soon. (The last thing Obama wants is a complete investigation of ACORN as he used to work for them, and gave them money during the election to register voters). Perhaps Dr. Lynette Long should come forward to Congress and tell about massive CAUCUS FRAUD with ACORN at the helm.

And will they investigate the other corrupt ties to Acorn, where we our pouring our tax payers money into??? Probabaly not.

DrKate, Good post ! Kate, I thought it was against the law to fly a tattered flag ? Is this correct ?
The flag is not the only tattered thing we need to relace. I guess the old saying still rings true Kate.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

DK… great picture and fittingly indicative of how our elected officials view the Constitution and this entire country.

While in DC for the Rally, I was stuck by the beautiful yet heart tearing memorials which stand as testament to the bravery of true Patriots of this country. Many carried inscriptions and I wondered if the current elected officials ever stop and read these words?

The words on those monuments speak of a country that has sacrificed and fought for FREEDOM and LIBERTY, both here on our soil and abroad. With deep regret, I know those shysters in DC only give a brief glance to the memorials and have a soul void of the meaning of Patriot. They have cut out the soul of this country, shredded the Constitution and played ruthless games with the meaning of civil discourse.

But America has awoken, Patriots such as yourself, are standing and willing to fight for the essence of spirit and heart of this great country.

Again, great post and thank you for your thoughts.

And this remminder…keep up the momentum
Alan Keyes rightly calls Obama a radical communist.

Unfortunately, Alan Keyes has no credibility at all, and may even hurt the dialogue. When he ran for Senator in Illinois against Obama, even Republicans wouldn’t vote for him.

    Dr. Kate,

Thanks for posting this picture. I heard you speak about this on last night’s Constitutional Radio, and I was extremely disheartened by the lack of respect for the flag by our Government. I look forward to the other stories you will be doing with regard to your time in D.C. and your attendence at the 912 march.

Congress is indeed in tatters, and the Oval Office is being usurped by a criminal who belongs in Leavenworth.
