Prayer For the Continental Congress 2009

©2009 drkate

Each and every day of the CC2009, we began with this prayer.  I was moved to tears, and then with great responsibility, each time this prayer was read.  And I began to ask for forgiveness for my transgressions, for my laziness, for my lack of eternal vigilance for liberty, for the comforts in my life which lull me into thinking someone else will save our country.

I have been eternally transformed by this event; my life now takes its true course.

Prayer of the Continental Congress

Almighty God,

On this day, the eleventh of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand and nine, we turn our attention to Thee and those who Minister with Thee, to Protect and Guard this Nation and the Rights of Free Men.

As we enter into these deliberations, we Humbly ask for Thy Guidance, Illumination, Protection and Peace that we may know Thy Will for our Beloved United States of America and this Continental Congress. Give us the Strength, the Energy and the Courage to do what is Right through this Body.

At all times, Protect those who are gathered here, our loved ones and all who are standing now for the Rights of Free Men, not only in this time together, but as we move forward to Fulfill your Plan.

We ask Thee to Enfold us in that which You Know will enable us to Carry on the Sacred Trust given by our Founding Fathers, through Whom Thy Voice was heard.

We offer all we are or have or ever hope to be into this Service for our Country and Fellow Man. Unite us as One Heart, One Mind, One Body.

We give Thee ALL Credit for All Good that may come from our humble efforts and we ask Thy Great Mercy and Forgiveness for the wrongs which have been committed against the Charters of Freedom which Thou gave to this world through the American People.

May we carry on the Torch of Liberty that all on this earth may one day know the Gifts and Blessings Thou intend for each of us. We offer this Prayer to Thee, Our Creator and Nature’s God, with a Firm Reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence.

Amen.

In honor of  We the People:

Thank you again, Dr. Kate. I love the prayer and the music. I wandered what that arrangement was. It makes me want to go back and watch the opening ceremony again. I will. It is so moving.

Here’s a bit of “Holiday Cheer” for the White House that includes a color version of the Washington Times B&W ad of the “three monkeys” that caused the Flying Monkeys to lose their cookies and the quote from one of the originators of natural law ain’t bad either:

Dr. Kate – I’d like to extend an invitation for you to read the newest post on rosettasister called “Sons of Liberty”.

I found it very uplifting, and thought of the delegates to the CC when I listened to the video.

    History IS repeating itself.

Thank you so much for that! Yes, its happening, I can see us talking everywhere on the corner, at the gas station, in the city halls. Time to take our country back!

Would that make us the grandsons and grandaughters of liberty???

LOL – More like the great, great, great, great, great grandsons and granddaughters of liberty.

Works for me because lots of your followers think you’re pretty great, too! 🙂

Thank you so very much, drkate, for sharing that beautiful prayer. When I started reading it, the tears started falling, and my heart swelled with joy and pride and my spirit was smiling. What a tremendous feeling in that room with so many wonderful citizens feeling God’s love and mercy. I’m sure it had to be very overwhelming for all of you, and I am so encouraged by your message; knowing that all of you there went out to your own communities and will continue to share that experience of drawing closer to our Wonderful Creator, Redeemer and Saviour.

God Bless the United States of America and her precious living, breathing document – The Constitution

Two thumbs up to the Prayer; cheers to DrKate and the full Continental Congress 2009 membership, their supportive friends and family, etc. History will record that modern day patriots all across this land cared enough to honor and respect the wisdom of the Founding Fathers. God Bless America!

    Season Greetings to All!
