Progressives Think They Won

©2010 drkate

It is noticeable that in the face of the greatest electoral defeat of a party in history, the democrats are still crowing that they won the 2010 mid-term elections…primarily because they lost only a few of their 80-member progressive caucus in the House:

… the hard left, nearly 80 strong Congressional Progressive Caucus, remained largely intact in the aftermath of last Tuesday’s elections…while so called “centrist” or moderate democrats lost hugely, the Progressives lost only three members Alan Grayson, John Hall and Phil “don’t worry about the Constitution” Hare.  To Institute of Policy Studies Dolan this means that Obama and the remaining Democrats now have nothing to lose by pushing hard to the left….and that Obama should “do the right thing through as many Executive Orders as we can present to him.”

The last sentence gives the progressives away as dictators–proposing that Obama use dictatorial powers to ram his agenda of destruction down America’s throat, or as the Executive Order implies, run right over us.

No one here denies this continued threat to our liberty and to America that the progressives regressives pose.  But I’d like to point out that the progressives have blown 100+ years of effort by being greedy and stupidly transparent in the last two years with their agenda of American hatred and destruction.  While they still may have their 80 members, they are a minority in the House and now much more vulnerable because they are exposed.  And they are exposed to an increasingly aware, never to turn back in that awareness, American public.

Saul Alinsky’s Rule No. 13 is about exposing the ‘targets’:

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universialities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

While not consciously following any rules, the 2010 midterm elections succeeded in isolating our true opponents by removing their cover.  The ‘Blue Dog’ democrats–or so-called ‘conservative’ democrats’–were largely wiped out of the House, again leaving the most liberal. Blue Dogs are losing because they lie–for example, the so-called ‘pro-life’ democrats.  The DINOs too afraid to join the progressive caucus will huddle with the Blue Dogs.

The RINOs, or establishment republicans were not spared either…they may have retained their seats but they have been exposed as collaborating with the democrats to keep the game going.

The Blue Dogs, RINOS, and progressives have things in common which now make their agenda more easily seen and enable the Americans to target and coordinate our resources:

  • RINOs –with loud whining from Blue Dogs on the ‘fairness’ of it all, and screaming obstruction from the progressives–are going to pursue endless investigations of Obama without ever mentioning eligibility, the czars, or the Kenya bribes.  Impeachment will be threatened but the vote is DOA in the democratically led Senate.  Talk will be big, some damning investigations will result, but no real accountability.  They will spend the next two years developing ‘issues’ for the 2012 election, such as trying to repeal obamacare in hopes of getting a ‘veto’ record from obama for 2012.
  • Blue Dogs–will continue to seek ‘compromise’, ‘reach across the aisle’, and seek to divide or isolate the true conservatives, striking deals with RINOs.  In the end, its like Charlie Brown and Lucy holding the football, call them the betrayal blue dogs.  But they are playing the game for 2012 too, searching for ‘discussion topics’ and any issue to use against republicans in 2012 and preserve their positions.
  • Progressives.  Their agenda will be to disrupt and distract the House and Senate from Obama’s executive orders.  They will attempt to provide cover for Obama and engage in ruthless tactics.  Their ability to stall any agendas, since they are in a minority, will depend on their parliamentary skill.

All of them are going to try to charm, bribe, arm twist, and threaten the new crop of conservatives coming into the House.

From a strategic perspective, this enables focus on (a) exposing games and forcing an accountable, prioritized  agenda in the House and Senate, and (b) Obama’s Executive Orders.

Executive Orders: Can Obama rule by Edict?

Governance by Executive Order is truly by dictate, where the President assumes power as a lawmaker–outside of Congress’ sole authority to make laws as per Article I.  From Infowars:

Senate Report 93-549 [November 19, 1973] has this to say:

The War and Emergency Powers Act of 1933 placed the USA under a state of emergency and suspended the Constitution.  Since March 9, 1933, the United States has been in a state of declared national emergency. In fact, there are now in effect four presidentially proclaimed states of national emergency: In addition to the national emergency declared by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, there are also the national emergency proclaimed by President Harry S. Truman on December 16, 1950, during the Korean conflict, and the states of national emergency declared by President Richard M. Nixon on March 23, 1970, and August 15, 1971. …

Many argue that Executive Orders are only as enforceable as the President makes them, and, as they can are funded by Congress.  Others argue otherwise.  Obama’s Executive Order satisfying the Blue Dogs–17 of them who were going to hold out on obamacare, specifically barred obamacare from providing federal funds for abortion; however, obamacare specifically provides taxpayer funds for abortion. According to one author,

“If it came down to a challenge between what the Executive Order says and what the legislation says, any court would go with the legislation – not the Executive Order.” Burck says no president has the independent authority or power to overrule legislation via an executive order, which apply only to personnel and agencies with the executive branch.
Every Executive Order that obama proposes to implement his agenda must be examined by Congress, defunded, or defanged.  Obama wanted his democrats out-of-the-way, consumed in legislative battles with republicans, while he sneaks around behind the scenes with a cache of EOs.
Stages of Grief, or Psyops?
Given the results of the 2010 election, and this rambling series of thoughts assembled here, it is also possible that democrats and liberals are deluding themselves, burying the pain from a truly devastating defeat-not victory.  For 100+ years the progressives have attacked our country from within, and they were poised in a historic takeover in 2006 and 2008.  Less than two years after Obama was placed into the White House, they have suffered defeats that will take decades to overcome.
While they are not cognizant of it yet, it is probably grief at such a historic setback:
There are five stages in the grieving process from Denial to Acceptance. American liberals are now moving through their own five stages of dealing with the decline and fall of the myth of Obama. The last time they had invested this much in a politician was the Kennedy Administration, yet there is no assassin’s bullet to explain the fall of Camelot for them here. Instead they have to come to terms with the reality of Obama’s failure.
Anger, denial, and bargaining will be stages that follow.  Will they ever accept Obama’s failure?
But psyops is also still underway, as we have discussed. When Bernadine Dohrn accused the Tea Party of being terrorists, something about ‘alternative universes’ came to mind–or is it parallel universes? Dohrn and her terrorist boyfriend Ayers don’t have the credibility, LOL, to accuse the Tea Party of anything–so it is laughable.  But isn’t that interesting how they mirror Homeland Security’s view?  😆 😆
Deadly Serious

I am glad the left feels like it has time to gloat…it gives us more time to prepare and command our positions. But make no mistake– they are deadly serious about their agenda.  Think of a movement that has come this far, with this much you see them really listening or reading the writing on the wall?

Not gonna happen.

So steel yourselves, the battle has just begun.

Thank you Dr. K, as usual a great article.
We need to vet more closely for the 2012 elections. There are Progressive Republicans, McCain for one off the top of my head, but if you go to the web site it lists them. Go to Progressives in Congress, also Socialists and even some are proud enough to state they are communists. We also need to stop the Muslims in office. We need to rid Congress/Senate and it will probably take the next two elections as least.
We also need to be on our toes for local and state elections more than ever. We did a good job on governors and state legislators this time but we can do better in 2012.

Question: Can’t the Congress veto a Executive Order? Seems like I read that somewhere to keep the President or fake president from forcing policies on the citizens. I could be wrong though.

Time to put away all the egos and differences, unite, keep piling on , best and last strategy , all attorneys in all cases should be urged to file Amicus Briefs with all the cases in the Supreme Court . Last chance for the high court to come clean …….

    from Orly:
I wrote to Margaret Hemenway (Lakin’s public relations person ), to Lakin and to General Vallely. I offered to help.

Currently I filed with the Supreme Court a petition for writ of Certiorari, which deals with Capt Dr. Connie Rhodes case (also a flight surgeon) and Major Cook’s case.( see PDF below).

I believe, that Lakin’s attorneys need to file an Amicus Brief with the Supreme Court in that case, as I already provided the court with a letter from Captain James Crawford, legal counsel for Admiral Mullen, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The letter states, that they are concerned about this issue,

they are forwarding it to the litigation counsel,

but they don’t believe, that they can do anything, because Commander in Chief is a civilian.

It shows, that on behalf of my clients I reached the highest echelons of power in the military and exausted all administrative remedies.

Now, it is up to the court to decide. The courts have to provide a venue for both Lakin and my clients and for me.

In my case judge Land did not state that there is no standing, he ruled on abstention, stating that he does not want to get into the affairs of the military.

On the other hand the military is saying that they cannot do anything, because Obama is a civilian. This is a classic case, where higher courts, specifically the Supreme Court of the United States needs to intervene and resolve this impasse, this conundrum between the military courts and the Federal courts.

I will be happy to testify at Lakin’s trial, if his attorneys want me to testify and will be happy to help in any way I can.
I was persecuted, I was punished with $20,000 sanctions for daring to bring a case agains a sitting president.

I can really appreciate, what Lakin is going through.

I consider Lt. Col Lakin a great American Hero and he deserves all the help, that he can get.

    God bless him.

Your web site, and others, including my two blogs, will need to be vigilant and keep an eye on all factions you mention, and call them on anything illegal or unconstitutional.

The Second Amendment will need to be kept in reserve.

Great article, Dr. Kate. It really scares me to think that we could be stuck with obama for the next two years and all the damage he could do to America. And the eligibility issue would not be resolved and a precedent would be set and we could get other non-natural born citizens as president. I have no doubt that Schwarzenegger or Jindal would have the US interests at heart, but that is beside the point.

We need to know at all times what this congress is up to, what bills are proposed and who is for what. We need to make an honest effort to stop anything that is unconstitutional.the senate, especially, bears very close watching. We need to make a physical appearance in DC to stop some of these bills. The ones of us who live close enough to go often should do it. I’m willing to do that.

I think soon we should go to DC and go to the Supreme Court to protest the handling of the Kerchner case. We can’t let the eligibility issue die. If Orly wants to help she can get her followers to go to Washington for this purpose. If the supremes hear the Kerchner case and he wins then Terry Lakin should be exonerated.

Dr. Kate, that is very clever of you to think of the progressives in congress to be going through the grieving process. That is exactly what is happening. And Pelosi somehow thinks she is going to continue in power? She would be laughable if she weren’t so dangerous.

Among other things, the Progressives have missed the very significant point that the American public, to a meaningful degree, has changed—it is not the unthinking, gullible mass that they have been manipulating for years. As GWB said, never before have so many citizens read the Constitution.
We must be vigilant and aware and keep the pressure on the scoundrels, but they have misjudged the election and the majority of the people.
We must also remember that all but the newly elected members of Congress stand the chance of being members of the Brotherhood of Perpetually Elected Elite and as such may P. E. E. on us at any time.

This is a good thing. Soros and the progressives are concerned about getting a return on their dollar. They are reacting in defense and trying to “bully” back. Since when do we trust their judgement??

We The People will be holding the newly elected accountable for the next many years in addition to starting recalls for the existing progressives still seated. The fight has only just begun. This is long term folks.

I think that this was the icing on the cake that woke a lot of us up and WE THE PEOPLE stood up to their extortion once and for all.

Remove Bernanki and shut down Goldman Sachs—take that money they stole from us and give it back–charge congress with all the bogus rules and regs they write to benefit them, the fed govt and wall street. Give our money back–Hank Paulson needs to go directly to prison and rot in a cell along with the rest of them.

Every single time I hear the repeat of his little speech in the rose gargen at the WH with GWB “give us the 650 bil or the financial system will collapse today, and by the way, don’t ask what we do with the money and we will not be held unaccountable”—-that sounds like a bank robber to me! I want to throw up and personally find these sobs and throw them in the deepest abyss I can find. This is how we got here–congress and their ponzi scams-not the home owners who didn’t pay-there has always been foreclosures for years—congress–democrat congressman, getting paid off by goldman sachs! And to think that in 9-08 this was all said and done on national tv for every american to see and hear.

Do away with the fed, wall st, UN, IMF all the rest and watch america grow and prosper…………This is a sick bunch of criminals right out in the open–oh and then we have the SEC standing guard and pretending to fine these thugs and what happens–they get paid off too! Talk about a ponzi scheme — and then there is George Soros the biggest scammer of all—and poor bernie madoff goes to prison and gets his wealth taken — by the US GOVT! ooopps guess someone had to be the scapegoat — after all someone had to fall.

I think that this was the icing on the cake that woke a lot of us up and WE THE PEOPLE stood up to their extortion once and for all.

Never let any of us take our eyes off of these criminals again–and criminals they are.

As Obama continues down politically over the next two years, actually precisely because he will, he can and likely will create tremendous — dangerous — administrative and other havoc to the nation on his way down.

The damage was done in November 2008 and we are and will continue to pay a very very costly price — November 2008 was akin to a thousand 9/11’s (a new form of ultra-terrorist attack from within, far more creative and unimaginable, and exponentially damaging to our nation, than two passenger jets flying in to the Twin Towers).

  10. 17 Ted November 9, 2010 at 11:59 am

THE CONSTITUTIONALIST is a booklet, a pamphlet in the style of the Common Sense tradition of Thomas Paine when Americans communicated with each other on issues of the day, before the MainStream Media (MSM) took over the agenda and decided the narrative of the day.
This booklet brings to the front the Constitutional issues largely ignored by the ACLU and our representatives in Congress.

The Constitutionalist is packed with legal justifications for the actions of the motivated patriot. It is an excellent recruiting tool. It can be used to raise funds for your organization. Contact T.L. Davis for additional copies.

The cost is $5 per copy with $3 for shipping and handling

I thought this was good. From Michelle Malkins site.

The five stages of Democrat grief — a current political offshoot of the Kübler-Ross model — that are being worked through at various levels in DC are as follows:

    1) Blame Bush

    2) Anger (Why didn’t those idiotic voters understand our message?)

    3) Bargaining (From “I won” to “okay, maybe we can work things out between us”)

    4) Depression (The country is on the brink of a depression; see #1)

    5) Acceptance (Yes, it was Bush’s fault)

    • 24 drkate November 9, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Exactly. Obama’s final line was that he didn’t get the cooperation from the republicans that he wanted–as if he tried. He will be in denial forever, writing endless monologues from jail about how stunned he is people didn’t understand him…

DrKate, I’ve been thinking see what you think. I believe that the GOP has known all along that BO is ineligible. The only way for the GOP to get back in control was to let the Dems really screw up (healthcare, stimulus etc). Look at what happened on Nov. 2nd. What we always forget about is to the politicians its about power, greed and status. We see it as our country, family and jobs. If it takes BO destroying our country for the GOP to get back control they will allow it. I think Rush, Hannity and the rest of the talkers were told to shut up until it is TIME to start letting everything out a little at a time. I’ve been listening to Rush for about 3 years and about 95% of what he says comes about so to me he is being fed when to release info. To politicians is about power. There is so much corruption that we never know about and will never will. Its never about whats good for our country, they may make us believe it is but it isn’t. We just end up having to swallow it and we go on. Thats the sad part. We just swap one set of crooks for another.

I have been a frequent caller and have successfully gotten through Screener-Snerdly to talk to Rush Limbaugh (with different names and locations given) about 15 to 20 times throughout the years.

I’d say about 10 other times I’ve called Rush and gotten to Snerdly, endeavoring to talk about “Natural Born Citizen” whenever a pretext seems to exist on his show, AND EVERY TIME, IN EVERY WAY, SNERDLY FLAT OUT SHUTS IT DOWN — even when I get so far as presenting arguing our salient points, with Snerdly ending up actually yelling at me and/or slamming me off.

Other talk show hosts, like Hannity, Mark Levin and others, I’ve called, same thing, they will NOT touch “Natural Born Citizen.”

’62 letter from father ignores Obama, mom
‘My wife is in Nairobi and I would really appreciate any help you may give her’

A letter Barack Obama Sr. wrote in 1962 raises new questions about the veracity of the official Obama nativity story related by Barack Obama Jr. in his autobiography “Dreams from My Father.”

A letter Barack Obama Sr. wrote in May 1962 from Hawaii to his political benefactor in Kenya, Tom Mboya, discusses his wife, but without mentioning Ann Dunham, his Hawaiian bride and the mother of the president.

Toward the end of the 1962 letter, Obama wrote, “You know my wife is in Nairobi there and I would really appreciate any help you may give her.”

Clearly Obama Sr. is referring to his first wife, Kezia Aoko, whom he had married in 1954 at age 18 while she was pregnant with their first child. Obama left Kenya in 1959 to study in Hawaii.

He instructs Mboya that his wife Kezia was then staying with her brother, Wilson Odiawo, in Nairobi.

Get the free, in-depth special report on eligibility that could bring an end to Obama’s presidency

Here is the relevant paragraph, at the end of the letter:

The handwriting next to the paragraph appears to be Mboya’s: “Ask Odiawo to see me.”

The handwriting at the bottom of the letter is that of Hoover Institution archivists identifying the location of the letter in the Tom Mboya Collection.

    (Story continues below)

BHO,Sr’s friend mentioned in the letter Jack Knuppenburg died in 1996, his sister was Cora Povey and she lived (lives?) in Bellingham, Washington. If she’s alive or has kids, maybe she knows something?

Speaking of his “father,” I read the most fascinating article on Forbes by Dinesh D’Souza, called “How Obama Thinks.” In it, he says:

“A good way to discern what motivates Obama is to ask a simple question: What is his dream? Is it the American dream? Is it Martin Luther King’s dream? Or something else?”

He says that Obama himself tells us in ‘his’ (and Bill Ayers) book, “Dreams From My Father,” and that if you view his comments and actions from a standpoint of his father’s anticolonialism, it all makes sense.

“I know a great deal about anticolonialism, because I am a native of Mumbai, India. I am part of the first Indian generation to be born after my country’s independence from the British. Anticolonialism was the rallying cry of Third World politics for much of the second half of the 20th century. To most Americans, however, anticolonialism is an unfamiliar idea, so let me explain it.

Anticolonialism is the doctrine that rich countries of the West got rich by invading, occupying and looting poor countries of Asia, Africa and South America. As one of Obama’s acknowledged intellectual influences, Frantz Fanon, wrote in The Wretched of the Earth, “The well-being and progress of Europe have been built up with the sweat and the dead bodies of Negroes, Arabs, Indians and the yellow races.”

It’s the first time I’ve read anything that makes sense of his perpetually peculiar (an understatement, I know) behavior. See what you think…

Thanks, as always, Dr. Kate for your pure awesomeness!!

Thanks, TX Pro, that’s a very good article. The author’s name sounded very familiar to me. I saw him on a video clip of a show, I believe it was on Fox, Judge Nopolitano. He was featuring his new book. His theory about Obama would explain how confusing he is to us Patriots. He seems to be not really Marxist, not really Muslim, not really fascist and the powers to be who put him in office are not too happy with him now because he isn’t doing what they want him to. He is doing his own thing in his very sick way.

How are we ever going to get this usurper out of our White House and in prison? It should have been done a long time ago. Now Soros et el want him to take us further down the road to oppression via more executive disorders before the new congress gets in.

What an amazing thing happened. Democrats chose Hillary in 2008 to be their nominee but Pelosi, Reid, Donna Brazille and Howard Dean kicked her under the bus and rolled over her. Donna thought that the democrats would still vote for Obama, for in her words, where could they go? Well, Ms. Brazile, the bitter, clinging to guns and their faith of those who had wanted HILLARY in 2008, NOT OBAMA, down the line in Ohio, PA, and other midwestern bellweather states voted REPUBLICAN this time around and kicked Nancy Pelosi out of office!!!! The message they sent was loud and clear. No Obama and his socialism, not now, not ever, and no Nancy Pelosi not now not ever. However, rumor has it the democrats may be so arrogant/so stupid/so stubborn as to vote her in as minority leader!

In the Obama White House, the insane are running the asylum. And I’m only half joking…

Barack Obama is no Bill Clinton. He doesn’t have Clinton’s intellect, Clinton’s political know-how, or Clinton’s common sense. Barack Obama is too self involved, too bored of details, too lazy. But even more important, Barack Obama doesn’t have the people around him who will allow a turn toward the political middle. Many of the moderates in the Democratic Party were taken out with this election. What is left are the far left people – the -expletive- “Progressives” if you will. They are still in denial. Never before has such a group of like minded dumb -expletives- inhabited the halls of the United States government.

(Laughs) That was pretty good – that last quote is a keeper. Thought you’d like that.

So there’s no hope for the party right now? Hope? That’s a tough commodity to come by for the hopeless. Look, the Democratic Party is suffering from temporary insanity right now. It’s a complete cluster-expletive- these days. They are walking around clueless. And what does the president do? The supposed leader of the country, and of course the Democratic Party? What does he do after losing the most seats in the House in 70 years? Why he goes on a working vacation to the Far East. Watching the Democratic Party these days…I don’t know if it’s tragedy or a comedy, it’s really getting hard to tell. What are these people… (trails off) </blockquote

I just don’t think President Obama fully understands or appreciates what is going to be coming at him in 2011. The scrutiny and the power that a Republican Congress now holds over him is going to be immense. I’m not exaggerating when I say it might very well break this president.

Break the president? Yeah. President Obama is already trying to balance on a very thin edge. His confidence is shattered. His lack of experience fully realized. Staff have abandoned him – or were forced out. Some in the media are actually starting to question him. The big money donors for the party are starting to reconsider their investment. The American voters rejected his agenda by historical proportions. Nancy Pelosi continues to pose a threat both as a national figure that the vast majority of Americans despise, as well as for what she knows regarding certain White House dealings…and now a Congress with the authority to demand answers? To hold investigations? Does anyone really think this president has the strength to endure this kind of political environment?

    The smirking little weasal… 😆

There was a huge fight in the party during the 2008 campaingn because stuff was known about Obama. The party decided to roll the dice because it wanted Obama. Or at least the big $$$$ people did. Now this “stuff” is leaking out on all sides and the party is in a mess to handle it before it brings down Obama.

Valerie Jarrett is in deep water for inconsistent statements regarding the sequence of events between the President-elect and Governor Blagojevich (and their respective ‘teams’).

She is what she is. She has a unique body where clothes do not fit well.

Oh if I had a long waist line like hers I would not wear clothes up to my knockers.

Look, this is a joke now, right? If he tries to cram EOs down the nation’s throat, we will reverse them! I cannot believe that everyone is falling for the mass 0-induced trance. Snap out of it! (smack!)

Agreed, EOs are not going to get enforced and they are going to be outed so we can continue to unnmask this fool

As far as Michelle is concerned, why can’t she hire a stylist who is on her side? Clearly, the one she has on her staff of what…26…must be a) Conservative or b) having an affair with Barry because clearly, he/she despises the woman!

  46. 94 no-nonsense-nancy November 10, 2010 at 9:00 pm

I can’t believe she is going around the world representing us as our first lady (what a disgrace), looking like that. Every time I see a picture of her it is worse! I don’t have the money that she has but I dress much better than she does. The other day I found a pair of pants similar to hers in the back of my closet (don’t know where they came from) and immediately threw them out! It was kind of stupid. I should have cut them up for rags.

I agree, she needs a new hair stylist. Her hair doesn’t look nice at all right now. She could try a wig if there isn’t much she can do with her hair. After all, she needs to be setting an example. Do foreigners think that is the way all Americans look?

I felt that all of the previous first ladies presented themselves well, even if I didn’t especially agree with the politics of their husbands. I just don’t think she can help it. that’s her. The Obamas going to Washington is like the Clampets going to LA!

A message to all members of Tea Party Patriots

In another continuing example of the arrogance of the ruling elite, Republican Senators are on the Pork Parade — Senators McConnell and Inhofe come out big time
    in support of earmarks. Here’s the smack down by Sen. Coburn;
If you think that earmarks and Congressional pork are the politics of the past, call these 7 GOP Senators now, tell them to VOTE TO BAN EARMARKS – Mitch
McConnell (KY) (202) 224-2541, Jim Inhofe (OK) (202) 224-4721, Lindsey
Graham (SC) (202) 224-5972, Lamar Alexander (TN) (202) 224-4944, Jon Kyl
(AZ) (202) 224-4521, John Barrasso (WY) (202) 224-6441, John Thune (SD)
    (202) 224-2321

It’s unbelievable we’d even have to say this to them after November 2nd, but that’s the kind of leadership that Mitch McConnell is providing in the Senate. Really…we remembered in November 2010…don’t they think we’ll do the same come November 2012?
