Honored Glory

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae, 1915.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Be not intimidated… nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice. ~John Adams

FJ–thank you and I am the daughter of a life long Naval father, the sister of a marine, the ex wife of a navy seal, the wife of a special ops army man, the mother of a navy sailor. A life long military family career.

And America is my country and each one of our troops, be it officer or enlisted or retired, are our heros and we honor them today and always.

God Bless and Keep you and your life long Navy father, your Marine brother, your Navy ex-husband, your current Army husband and your Navy daughter/son. God Bless and Keep you and your entire life long military family!

I am the son of a life-long (37 years anyway) Army father, the older brother of a West Point grad and the brother-in-law of an Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Also a life long military family. 🙂

Likewise America has always been, is now, and will always be my family’s country and each and every one of our troops, past and present, enlisted or officer or retired, are indeed our heros which we honor every day but especially/specifically on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.

Yesterday, just as me, my older brother and widowed 93 year mother were about to leave to visit my father at Arlington National Cemetery (we’re only about 30-mins away) a next-door (liberal) neighbor came over to visit my mother. When my mother told her we were on our way to Arlington National Cemetery the neighbor remarked in a sad tone: “That must be very difficult to do.” My mother smiled and said in a proud tone: “Not today it isn’t.” When a questioning look came over the neighbor’s face I said: “Today is Memorial Day. It’s very humbling and uplifting to go to Arlington National Cemetery today.”, to which the neighbor replied “Oh yeah, I forgot”.

BTW: It would be my honor and pleasure to personally pay respects to anyone’s personal hero who is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. drkate, I’ll defer to your excellent judgement as to who you put in touch with me towards that end.

Headquarters Grand Army of the Republic
    General Orders No.11, WASHINGTON, D.C., May 5, 1868

The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit.

We are organized, comrades, as our regulations tell us, for the purpose among other things, “of preserving and strengthening those kind and fraternal feelings which have bound together the soldiers, sailors, and marines who united to suppress the late rebellion.” What can aid more to assure this result than cherishing tenderly the memory of our heroic dead, who made their breasts a barricade between our country and its foes? Their soldier lives were the reveille of freedom to a race in chains, and their deaths the tattoo of rebellious tyranny in arms. We should guard their graves with sacred vigilance. All that the consecrated wealth and taste of the nation can add to their adornment and security is but a fitting tribute to the memory of her slain defenders. Let no wanton foot tread rudely on such hallowed grounds. Let pleasant paths invite the coming and going of reverent visitors and fond mourners. Let no vandalism of avarice or neglect, no ravages of time testify to the present or to the coming generations that we have forgotten as a people the cost of a free and undivided republic.
If other eyes grow dull, other hands slack, and other hearts cold in the solemn trust, ours shall keep it well as long as the light and warmth of life remain to us.

Let us, then, at the time appointed gather around their sacred remains and garland the passionless mounds above them with the choicest flowers of spring-time; let us raise above them the dear old flag they saved from dishonor; let us in this solemn presence renew our pledges to aid and assist those whom they have left among us a sacred charge upon a nation’s gratitude, the soldier’s and sailor’s widow and orphan.

It is the purpose of the Commander-in-Chief to inaugurate this observance with the hope that it will be kept up from year to year, while a survivor of the war remains to honor the memory of his departed comrades. He earnestly desires the public press to lend its friendly aid in bringing to the notice of comrades in all parts of the country in time for simultaneous compliance therewith.

Department commanders will use efforts to make this order effective.

By order of JOHN A. LOGAN, Commander-in-Chief
    N.P. CHIPMAN, Adjutant General
    Official: WM. T. COLLINS, A.A.G.

Dr Kate, thanks for putting up that video of the little girl playing taps. It’s one of my favorites.
Today I am especially thinking of my ancestors who fought in the American Revolution. I don’t know how many there were but I know of one direct ancestor who did. That gives me the courage and determination to continue on with this fight to save our county. Let us NEVER have to play taps for the United States of America!!!

I have posted this before but I listen to it occasionally and I like to listen to it on Memorial Day. Not only did early Americans have to fight to create our great country but they had to fight to keep it only a few years later during the War of 1812. This is a beautiful audio of the night that Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner.

I would also like to thank Dr. Kate for all you do for our country and your courage to truthfully expose the present evil tyranny across America.

Also thank you my fellow Patriots for standing strong in this dangerous time we live in.

May God Bless Each and Everyone of you and your famililes. 🙂

A Happy and safe Memorial Day to everyone here. Praise our Lord, stand tall and salute our Country and constitution that has always been fought for for our freedom. Let freedom Ring throughout America!

Thank you, Kate, for giving us this opportunity to salute all those brave military men and women who are both here and passed over. God bless them all! I would especially like to remember Cpl. Jason Dunham, who threw himself on a grenade to save his fellow soldiers:

    A nice photo:

I met his precious mother, Debra, at a ceremony honoring Jason, and was so honored just to talk with her, a woman who made a great sacrifice, and the parent of one who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is a day to contemplate and remember those who died fighting to keep America free. Let us honor them by continuing to work towards keeping America free by discovering and exposing every group or person who is actively working to use freedom to destroy freedom.

Intel report: Kenyans honor Obama’s ‘birthplace’
Cultural museum commissioned in family’s African village
    Posted: May 30, 2011

    By Jerome R. Corsi
    © 2011 WND

An internal bulletin from the Kenyan National Security Intelligence Service, or NSIS, states that the Kenyan government in 2009 commissioned a cultural museum in the Obama home village of Kogelo to honor the “birthplace of President Barack Obama” and rededicate the tomb of his father, Barack Obama Sr.

The 2009 NSIS bulletin report said:

The ministry of national heritage this month hosted a cultural festival in Kogelo and commissioned a cultural museum on a plot donated by a member of the Kogelo community. The cultural festival was attended by the minister for national heritage, William ole Ntimama and U.S. ambassador, Michael Ranneberger.

This was to honour the birthplace of President Obama and re-dedicate the tomb of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., the president’s late father. But the project had been delayed because of ownership wrangles surrounding the plot.
According to an article in the Kenyan Daily Nation newspaper July 5, 2010, the Kenyan government’s plans to build a 112 million Kenyan Schilling ($1.3 million) cultural center at Kogelo was locked in a dispute over who should donate land to the government for the project.

The Constitution – Stronger than Dirt!

Here is a question for the obots. If, back when the Founders were laying their quills to the final draft of our awesome Constitution, jus soli (birth on U.S. soil) were considered enough to qualify one as a natural born Citizen, then what would have been the need for the Fourteenth Amendment[1]?

Of course, the Fourteenth Amendment was written many decades after the Constitution and it did not address natural born Citizenship at all, so how could it inform us as to the Founders thoughts on jus soli, you may reasonably wonder? Well, let’s follow the logic:

One certainly cannot be a natural born Citizen without at least being born a citizen, right? Okay, now note that all former slaves were born jus soli totally within the jurisdiction and boundaries of the USA, yet a Constitutional amendment was required to just make some of these, our fellow countrymen, citizens. That’s right (and plain as can be). Many former slaves who were born on U.S. soil were being denied citizenship by certain States because they were born to non-citizen parents!

Clearly, jus soli was not enough to make them citizens (let alone natural born Citizens). That the Fourteenth Amendment exists at all is proof positive that the Founders did not consider jus soli sufficient by and of itself to confer natural born Citizenship status – blood and dirt were both required.

The above train of thought is perfectly consistent with the Founders’ expressed intent to prevent our Commander-in-Chief from having any foreign affinities, loyalties or allegiances. The natural born Citizen clause was to ensure that the facts of one’s birth would provide no natural claim by any foreign power that one be a direct subject or citizen of that power. That means that one must not be born on the soil of a foreign power (i.e., within its jurisdiction) and that the USA must not recognize either of one’s parents as being legitimately, legally claimed as subjects or citizens of a foreign power.

Blood and dirt – perhaps not perfect, but the Founders recognized it as doing the best job of protecting sovereign Citizens of our great nation from the danger of a usurper gaining the Presidency (and sadly, the danger that comes from defying their wisdom we are experiencing first hand, today).

[1]The Fourteenth Amendment was adopted expressly to grant U.S. national citizenship to all de facto fellow countrymen who were born within the sole jurisdiction and boundaries of the USA, but were born of a special class of parents (i.e., former slaves) who, but for their enslavement, would themselves have been citizens.

Something’s up. (Dr. Kate, you were the first person I wanted to tell this to, because your instincts and ability to piece together the bits and pieces is unparalleled.)

This morning on Fox & Friends, Larry Sabato was interviewed by Steve Doocey about the record amount of time oblahblah has gone “without a scandal”. (To which I snorted and yelled so loudly I woke up the dog…)

Sabato went on to say how it’s probably because there’s been so many crisis the poor guy has had to carry on his shoulders (I’m paraphrasing but you get the drift), and Doocey went on to blame the MSM for protecting him (as if FOX isn’t a part of the MSM). Sabato said something like “I always tell people it’s not Beware the Ides of March, you’ve got to watch out for the summer doldrums when the news is slow. That’s when scandals tend to break.”

    The foundation is being laid…

    • 50 Alex June 1, 2011 at 6:11 am

What I never understand is how these people lie so easily, and where they get their marching orders. Are there emails sent to everyone saying, “Here are the lies for today. Be sure and do exactly as we say OR ELSE!”???

      I don’t get it.

    Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

    1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart
    Every hour of every day.

    2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

    3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day
    (March 17th) than
    Target sells all year.

    4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears +
    Costco + K-Mart combined.

    5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world’s largest
    private employer,
    and most speak English.

    6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the
    history of the world.

    7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than
Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep
in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

    8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought

    9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any
    other store in the world.

    10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the
    USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers;
this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

    11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will
    occur at Wal-Mart stores.
(Earth’s population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

    12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen
    miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining,
but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we
should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats,

To the President and all 535 voting
    members of the Legislature,

It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:

    A. The U.S. Postal Service was established

    B. Social Security was established in 1935.
You have had 74 years to get it right

    C. Fannie Mae was established in 1938.
You have had 71 years to get it right
    and it is broke.

    D. War on Poverty started in 1964.
    You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated
each year and transferred to “the poor”
    and they only want more.

    E. Medicare and Medicaid were established
in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right
    and they are broke.

    F. Freddie Mac was established in 1970.
You have had 39 years to get it right
    and it is broke.

    G. The Department of Energy was created in
1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.
It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with
a budget of $24 billion a year and we
import more oil than ever before.
You had 32 years to get it right
and it is an abysmal failure.

    You have FAILED in every
    “government service” you have shoved
down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

At the Douglas County Tea Party on June 4, 2010,
a marine surprised everyone and sung that fourth verse of The Star-Spangled Banner

O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

  24. 58 susan h May 31, 2011 at 11:14 am

My dad was a marine who fought in the Pacific in WWII. He was never so proud of anything in his life as he was of his military service. Our “dear leader” went golfing on Memorial Day. Isn’t there a pattern of his ‘missing’ memorial day so he doesn’t have to pretend that he cares about us, our military, their families and the sacrifices of Americans. He continues to be an embarassment to all Americans.

    • 59 RacerJim May 31, 2011 at 1:47 pm

      susan h,

God Bless and Keep your father. My dad was in the Army…fought in Europe from D-Day +6 through the end of the war. Also fought in the Korean Conflict. Like your father, my father also was never so proud of anything in his life as he was of his 37 year long military service…and my mom, two brothers, sister and me are just as proud of his military service.

Better our “dear leader” goes missing on Memorial Day and Veterans Day than show up and pretend or, worse yet, offend like he did on Memorial Day 2009 at the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington Natioanl Cemetery when he failed to put his hand over his heart during the playing of TAPS.

To say he is an embarrassment to all Americans is putting it nicely.

“Quite simply, Obama’s speech represents the effective renunciation of the US’s right to have and to pursue national interests. Consequently, his speech imperils the real interests that the US has in the region – first and foremost, the US’s interest in securing its national security.

Obama’s renunciation of the US national interests unfolded as follows:

First, Obama mentioned a number of core US interests in the region. In his view these are: “Countering terrorism and stopping the spread of nuclear weapons; securing the free flow of commerce, and safe-guarding the security of the region; standing up for Israel’s security and pursuing Arab-Israeli peace.”

Then he said, “Yet we must acknowledge that a strategy based solely upon the narrow pursuit of these interests will not fill an empty stomach or allow someone to speak their mind.”

While this is true enough, Obama went on to say that the Arabs have good reason to hate the US and that it is up to the US to put its national interests aside in the interest of making them like America. As he put it, “a failure to change our approach threatens a deepening spiral of division between the United States and Muslim communities.”

And you know what that means. If the US doesn’t end the “spiral of division,” (sounds sort of like “spiral of violence” doesn’t it?), then the Muslims will come after America. So the US better straighten up and fly right.

And how does it do that? Well, by courting the Muslim Brotherhood which spawned Al Qaeda, Hamas, Jamma Islamiya and a number of other terror groups and is allies with Hezbollah.

How do we know this is Obama’s plan? Because right after he said that the US needs to end the “spiral of division,” he recalled his speech in Egypt in June 2009 when he spoke at the Brotherhood controlled Al Azhar University and made sure that Brotherhood members were in the audience in a direct diplomatic assault on US ally Hosni Mubarak.

And of course, intimations of Obama’s plan to woo and appease the jihadists appear throughout the speech. For instance:”

We need to clean out and up DC once and for all. These thugs are public servants and its time they acted as such instead of the “royalty” they think they are.

NO more lobbying either for anything. No more putting money in the pockets on any politician. These politicians are paid by us for us and for them to take bribes and payoffs from lobbiests is extortion against us.
